Kudos has signed a deal with its first Chinese customer, as it continues to expand its client base.

The six most recent clients to join its services span five countries, including the company’s first deal in China, where five per cent of registered Kudos researchers are based.

New publisher partners include:

  • The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, a publisher of cutting-edge aerospace journals and books;
  • Brill, which publishes 243 journals and more than 1,000 books each year in the humanities and social sciences, international law, and selected sciences;
  • F1000 Research, the open science publishing platform for life scientists;
  • Karger Publishers, which publishes around 100 journals and 50 books each year in the fields of science and medicine;
  • Tsinghua University Press, the highly-regarded publisher of both English and Chinese journals in a range of subject areas; and
  • Wageningen Academic Publishers, which publishes six journals and 40 books annually in the field of life sciences.

'There are many high-quality papers published in our journals every year. Kudos can definitely provide an opportunity for getting more authors involved,' said Yan Shuai, director of journal publishing at Tsinghua University Press.

'We are interested to see how our authors will participate in the promotion of their work, and to identify high-interest content and active authors. It will be great that a broader readership can be reached through our cooperation with Kudos.'
