The academic publishers De Gruyter and Versita will cooperate in the publication and sales of journals from Eastern Europe and books from Eastern and Central Europe.
From 2011, De Gruyter will provide international sales and distribution services for Eastern European journals from Versita’s portfolio. In addition, both publishers will establish a joint academic book programme, which aims to produce up to 60 titles per year. The journal and book titles will be available in print format as well as online on De Gruyter’s integrated platform Reference Global.
'The areas of Central and Eastern Europe are active research communities which have shown an above average rate of growth over the last several years. In addition, the constant improvements in funding have led to an increase in research quality which has found international recognition,' commented Sven Fund, director of De Gruyter. 'We want to be a part of this growth and we are convinced that Versita, with its knowledge of the market, is the ideal partner to help us attain this goal.'
