Register for ALPSP conference by Thursday

The ALPSP Conference is just a couple of weeks away, and there are just a few days to register for the event.

Delegates will gather at the Park Inn Hotel and Conference Centre, London Heathrow, from 9 to 11 September, to discuss and debate the latest developments and issues for the scholarly publishing community.

The organisers are promising thought-provoking, practical and interactive sessions on a wide range of topics and an excellent line up of speakers.

Keynote speakers include Anurag Acharya, go-creator of Google Scholar, who will speak on 'What happens when your library is worldwide and all articles are easy to find?' and Kuansan Wang, director of the Internet Service Research Centre at Microsoft Research, who will speak on 'From Web Publishing to Knowledge Web Publishing'.

Other sessions include:

Researching researchers: developing evidence-based strategy for improved discovery and access;
Text and data mining – an alternative view;
Smart ways for small publishers to go global;
Industry updates – a lightning tour of new initiatives;
The academic book of the future?;
Have I got standards for you?;
Developments in copyright licensing;
Global positioning;
Peer review – evolution, experiment and debate; and
Digital developments and new revenue streams.

There's also a full social programme with a drinks reception and awards dinner.
