Organisers of the inaugural London Info International say they are delighted with the reaction the event, and are already busy planning next year's show.

The two-day show, held at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London, welcomed visitors from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, including  staff from some 80 universities, hospitals and research centres, 20 pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, nine financial organisations, as well as representatives of other industries including legal, oil and gas.

Show creator and direct Phillip Ditchfield told Research Information: 'I’m delighted with the launch of London Info International and the heart-warming comments and support we’ve received.

'Attendees commented that they were able to meet the content providers they wanted to, in two days, in a great location. Exhibitors loved the venue’s size and the natural light in the halls and that they were able to have first class meetings with high calibre attendees including librarians, heads of information departments, researchers and buyers.'

Dicthfield said visitors particularly enjoyed the showcase and speed network events, and said a number have reported arranging follow–up meetings since the event.

He added: 'For the 2015 event, we have the luxury of much more time and have already started the process of reaching out to more attendees across the region and creating an excellent programme. We have a  number of exciting things to announce over the coming months and are putting together a conference committee, which will consist of experts from all sides of publishing, industry and academia.'

Next year's London Info International will take place on 16 and 17 November, once more at the Royal Horticultural Halls.
