The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and Society of American Archivists (SAA) Mosaic Program have chosen five master of library and information science in archival studies students as 2014–2016 interns.

Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, this programme strives to promote diversification of the archives. Fellows in the ARL/SAA Mosaic Program will participate in a paid internship with the partner institution and will receive a tuition stipend, mentoring, leadership development and career placement assistance, membership to SAA, and support to attend the annual meeting.

The 2014–2016 ARL/SAA Mosaic Program fellows are: Micha Broadnax, internship host: Schlesinger library, Harvard University. Joanna Chen, internship host: University of Southern California libraries. Adriana Flores, internship host: Howard Gotlieb archival research centre, Boston University. Harvey Long, internship host: Wisconsin historical society and the University of Wisconsin–Madison libraries. Sara Powell, internship host: Institute archives and special collections, Massachusetts institute of technology libraries.

‘The ARL/SAA Mosaic Program is a vital part of association of research libraries’ commitment to diversity and inclusion,’ said Anne Kenney, Cornell University librarian. ‘The programme also builds strong ties with SAA in expanding professional expertise for documenting and presenting a historical record that reflects the diversity of American life.’
